Spinning Hemp Fiber at Shows
This past holiday season, I set up my spinning wheel at a very local community Christmas/Holiday Bazaar, something I love to do because I get to meet so many awesome people that actually engage and want to know more!
From there, I was invited to a home and garden show happening in May to which I was recently reminded by my neighbor 3 doors down (which is actually like 5 miles away). I don’t normally do fairs or shows anymore because I’m missing that one key thing needed for that…time! But this year I’m totally feeling the grass roots vibe again. back to where it all started for me. out talking to people face to face. and I sorely miss giving henna tattoos to complete strangers!! love my beautiful strangers.
Since I was cleaned out this winter of my hand spun, I only have 3 choices at the moment. Guess I’d better get busy spinning! I have a few color schemes in mind and as always I’ll throw random colors together to see what comes of it. Creativity loves blind adventure!
A few weeks ago when I attended my community’s Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras party, I ran into a local glass blower and scored a bunch of new dichro pendants. Usually when I meet a new glass blower, I almost immediately ask them for their pendants. They usually have a small stash, if anything at all, because most glass blowers that are into making heady pendants are much more into making heady pieces, ha! The artist who did these pendants actually loves doing pendants and that’s all he does. Rad!
so many sweet pieces will come of this lot. I already made a necklace out of the one of the stealy pendants. which is your favorite?
